About Me

I am a registered accredited member of BACP (The British Association for Counsellors and Psychotherapy - bacp.co.uk) and an ACC Accredited Counsellor (The Association for Christian Counsellors - acc-uk.org) adhering to their code of ethics for good practice and have regular supervision. The BACP Register of Counsellors & Psychotherapists (www.bacpregister.org.uk) to which I belong is approved by the Professional Standards Authority for Health & Social Care. I am also registered with Counselling Directory.

I trained at CWR and London School of Theology and obtained a Diploma in Counselling with merit in 2005. I also trained and worked as a Pregnancy Crisis Counsellor. I continue to learn through regular Continuing Professional Development, including attending courses on working with anger, dreams, inner child, anxiety disorder, childhood sexual abuse, relationships, spiritual wholeness, bereavement and loss, suicide and self-harm. I did my supervision training with Barnabas obtaining a Level 5 Diploma in Therapeutic Supervision.

I have 12 years’ experience of counselling. I began work in community settings and have worked in private practice for the last 10 years. I am also a part-time voluntary bereavement counsellor at a local hospice. Before becoming a counsellor, I worked as a Care and Learning Support Assistant and have both professional and personal experience as a carer, including for special needs and terminal illness.

I love my work and am passionate about working with others through their difficulties toward their full potential. As a Christian I have understanding of the significance of faith and offer counselling with an optional spiritual aspect. My own faith enhances my view of you as a unique and valuable individual with respect for your right to choice and your own belief system. I attend Carpenders Park Church (carpendersparkchurch.org.uk).
